From the artist:
“I am intrigued by the sculptural and structural possibilities of collage. I find collage to be an ideal medium for me to develop and express ideas. Many of my pieces have deliberate references to architecture, topography, typography and calligraphy.
When working on paper I like to develop flowing often biomorphic forms afloat in color. Often using ink, dye and grease pencil for effect. My sculptures are made from found objects. I like to incorporate materials such as leather, rope, animal bone, plant seeds and pods, feathers, worn wood, stone, twisted metal or maybe glass fragments into my work.
I’m always in search of inspiration. Sometimes it comes from an empty bird or hornets nest. Maybe from a peeling street poster. Or even a small squirrels skull poking out from beneath some leaves. Inspiration can come from anywhere at anytime. This search is what makes life for me an adventure.”
